Middleware Support Expert (Airspace Industry)
In the Role of the Middleware Support Expert you will provide:
Support to Level 1:
• To carry out the software and/or middleware systems transfer procedures
from development to operations, for the installation and migration of new
software releases and increments.
• To provide release training to L1 support.
Level 2 support:
• To provide second level support for the NM software applications and/or
middleware in order to maintain the operational services.
• To provide second level support for NM mission critical middleware.
• On call L2 LSE Roster (7D, 24h).
Integration:
• To assemble different software components, as produced by the software
development teams, to build an increment of NM Systems and to test that
they interact correctly.
• To perform the verification of the compatibility of the software components
to be integrated.
• To verify all non-functional requirements of the systems like performance,
maintainability, availability, robustness, …
Incidents:
• Handling and resolving incidents created by Level 1 support. And perform
Level 2 incident investigation and resolution in order to maintain the
operational services,
• Support engineer should be able to identify the logs of the machine
involved, to interpret them and find out errors related to the incidents.
• The Support engineer should be able to resolve the incidents or if not
possible to be able to provide correct and comprehensive information to
Level 3 support.
• The support engineer should be able to provide comprehensive
information to the user impacted and to ask supporting questions.
• Contribution to the problem management process (root cause analysis).
Maintenance:

• Overall health monitoring of the software applications (preventive action).
• To carry out daily system administration of iNM middleware and access
management
• Installation of software patches.
• Modification and maintenance of the repository files.
Support to release development:
• To participate in the implementation of application and/or middleware
deployment, configuration and support tools and to produce the related
documentation.
• To carry out technical acceptance testing of new releases and increments
to the operational software applications
• To provide input to the architecture groups/ studies in the areas of service
support and service delivery.
• To participate in the review of iNM release deliverables like technical
documentations
• To produce documentation in respect of the change procedures in support
of the operational applications and/or middleware tools.
• To provide support to developers and users in respect of the operational
applications and/or middleware tools
• Perform any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Must have Skills (Demonstrable experience required):
• Operating Systems Skills: Red Hat OpenShift CO, Ngix, Squid, MongoDB,
Postgres
• Access Management: Okta and Azure AD
• Configuration management: Bitbucket, SharePoint, GitHUb
• IT system Monitoring/Supervision, Docker, OPENSHIFT, Ansible
• Development/configuration tools: Oracle SQL language, Java, JIRA,
Bitbucket, Confluence.
• Testing Tools: Selenium, Neo Load
• Advanced Excel skills: pivot, reports, ODBC, VBA macros
• Standard Office applications
• Team player, customer oriented

Must have Required Qualification:
• Middleware configuration and administration (e.g Weblogic, TOMCAT,
Mongo and Oracle DB)
• Integration, configuration and deployment of software components.
• Azure Cloud certification – administration and operations,
• Specification and verification of non-functional requirements.

• Definition and automation of technical test scenario.
• Monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, Grafana): deployment,
configuration, management
• IAM : knowledge of the LDAP structure, supporting the authorization model
• Languages English (mandatory) and French (advantage
• Ability to work independently in specific branch of the Programme,
communicate results to the Programme and analyse associated risks;
• Ideally Belgium based – or ability to travel to Belgium on a regular basis for
customer intimacy.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant operations architecture and operations
management experience to perform the advertised tasks;
• Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment;

Desirable: Completed university studies of 4 years (Master’s degree) in a
relevant domain (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology)
