About role
Accountable and responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Network and Service design for
Modern Transmission Networks in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and
quality, in accordance with the Governance of Railway Investment Projects (GRIP)
Lead multi-disciplinary teams including commercial, programme controls, engineering and others
to identify solutions to client requirements and establish a robust baseline plan.

Essential (Minimum 14+ Years’ Experience):
• Should possess extensive experience of working on various telecom technologies and
should know E2E telecom value chains
• Very good understanding on access, transmission and core network technologies
including design & implementation
• Sound knowledge and hands on experience on technologies like IP/MPLS, SDH, PDH,
• Working experience on layer-1, 2 3 technologies and protocols including integration
of various vendor network elements
• Ability to understand the existing network implementation and able to provide
network designs for migration from legacy TDM, PDH based networks to SDH,
OTN/DWDM/IP/MPLS based networks
• Implementation knowledge on fibre-optic network designs with CWDM and DWDM
• Strong experience in driving efficiencies in network design and validation of the
• Identify, innovate and help drive the roadmap in liaison with the strategy, system
Architect, product and service departments
• Sound communication skill and prior experience on close customer interaction
• Ability to estimate efforts, prepare reports, and plan for completion of activities

• Knowledge of network design and operation supporting Rail or Critical National
Infrastructure (CNI)
• Strong experience in Telecommunications Process Frameworks (TMF eTOM, TAM
and SID) and IT Process Frameworks (ITIL)
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent in a technical subject.
• Strong analytical thinker, Strong communicator and influencer
• Understanding on OSS solutions in terms of service fulfilment, service assurance,
inventory management, network integration and interfaces.
• Hands on experience in using Cramer (preferably OSS 9.0 and above) for network
• TOGAF, ITIL or eTOM certifications
• Experience of working in Railway Telecommunications, Signalling etc.
